MORE than 110 local-based companies have signed up to a new website designed to list all businesses in Bahrain offering delivery services during the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
The website, www.eBahrain.biz, was launched by SayG, a technology solutions provider in Bahrain.
According to SayG (which means ‘truth’) founder and chief executive Dr Shaikha Eshaa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the idea for the website came after the commercial shops were shut leading to a surge in deliveries and online buying.
“Many stores wanted to shift to online sales and many customers wanted to buy online but were unaware of how to find the shops that met their needs,” she told the GDN.

She said the website was not an e-commerce website but offered a free platform for businesses and customers to connect.
“It’s like creating a bridge – any customer can contact any store for delivery of products or service to the house.
“We don’t charge any fees for businesses to sign up on our website; we are also different because we don’t sell anything on the website.”
She said the website was an ideal platform for productive families to showcase their products.
“If a company is not found on our website, we contact them and get them to register.
“Some people searched for fresh fish – which wasn’t available – so I contacted fishermen who agreed to sign up and offer their services to deliver freshly caught fish to customers.”
